For several years now, Penken ski area has been interconnected with the Finkenberg, Rastkogel and Eggalm ski areas, making it one of the largest and most varied ski areas in Austria. A particularly popular attraction is the Harakiri slope with a 78 percent gradient – Austria's steepest slope. Penken Park caters for snowboarders and freeskiers with 8 areas and a wide range of activities for every skill level.

If you prefer to experience stunning views in a more comfortable style, take the cable cars to the individual mountain stations.

Starting points for your winter hike are located in practically every region of the Upper Zillertal Valley.

The Hintertux Glacier is Austria's only year-round ski area and is quickly accessible by car or Greenline (express ski bus)! Skiing 365 days a year – what more could you ask for?

The Tux Valley offers 14 km of classic cross-country trails leading from Vorderlanersbach to Madseit and 14 km of skating trails in Juns/Madseit. Please note the direction of the arrow on the cross-country trail! The cross-country is available for your use free of charge. You will also find well-maintained trails in Mayrhofen and Hippach, snow conditions permitting.

Access points for all huts in the region can be reached by taxi. Resident traffic must be expected on the toboggan runs. Please also note the tobogganing times!

Classic toboggan huts include Bichlalm, Grieralm or the Höllensteinhütte!

The 68 km of winter hiking trails provide a wide variety of choice for hiking enthusiasts. The winter hiking trails to Eggalm, Penken or the Sommerbergalm are a challenge – rustic huts and panorama restaurants with local specialities await you as a reward.

Explore untouched winter landscapes with modern snowshoes and experience pure nature! Discover the various options such as the night-time Trappertrail, the "FUN" or "SPORTIV" snowshoe tours. Further tours can be found in the Penken and Ahorn areas of the Mayrhofen holiday region.

Don’t forget about the many ice-skating rinks in the valley! The closest one is in the centre of Mayrhofen. Curling is also offered at various places throughout the Zillertal Valley (Zell, Kaltenbach, and many more).
